About Thigh Lift
A thigh lift reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin and fat, resulting in smoother, firmer legs with improved contour. This procedure is particularly beneficial after significant weight loss or for those with genetically loose thigh skin.
A thigh lift removes excess skin and fat from the inner or outer thighs, creating firmer, more proportionate leg contours. At Aestique Clinic, we offer medial (inner) thigh lifts, lateral (outer) thigh lifts, and circumferential thigh lifts depending on the location and extent of excess tissue.
This procedure is particularly popular among patients who have experienced significant weight loss, as well as those whose thigh skin has lost elasticity due to aging. The result is thighs that are smoother, firmer, and better proportioned.
Thigh Lift Options
- Inner (Medial) Thigh Lift: Targets the inner thigh with a groin crease incision.
- Outer (Lateral) Thigh Lift: Addresses the outer thigh and hip area.
- Bilateral Thigh Lift: Comprehensive lifting of the entire thigh circumference.
- Mini Thigh Lift: Limited to the upper inner thigh for mild excess.

Am I a Good Candidate?
A thigh lift may be appropriate if you:
- Have excess, sagging skin on the inner or outer thighs
- Have lost significant weight and have redundant thigh skin
- Experience chafing or skin irritation from excess thigh skin
- Are at a stable weight and in good overall health
- Accept that scars (typically in the groin crease) are the trade-off for improved contour
- Have realistic expectations about the results
Recovery & Aftercare
Thigh lift recovery timeline:
- Week 1: Compression garment worn. Drains may be placed. Rest with legs elevated. Limit walking.
- Week 2: Sutures removed. Gradually increase walking. Compression garment continues for 4-6 weeks.
- Week 3-4: Return to desk work. Avoid straddling motions and excessive leg movement.
- Month 2: Resume light exercise. Scars begin to fade.
- Month 6: Full activities resume. Scars continue to mature and lighten over 12-18 months.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where will the scars be?
For a medial thigh lift, the scar is placed in the groin crease where it is hidden by underwear. For more extensive lifts, a scar may extend down the inner thigh. Your surgeon will explain the incision plan during consultation.
Can liposuction replace a thigh lift?
Liposuction alone works well for excess fat with good skin elasticity. If you have significant loose, hanging skin, liposuction cannot address the skin excess and a thigh lift is recommended.
How long do thigh lift results last?
Results are long-lasting with stable weight maintenance. Some natural aging effects may occur over time, but the removed skin will not return.
